Asian Man Records is run out of my parents garage in Northern California. I have one employee and my mom helps out by picking up the mail at the post office. I began putting out records in 1991 and officially started Asian Man in May of 1996. ASIAN MAN is a VERY SMALL LABEL!!!! I think some of the general public have the wrong idea and believe we’re this huge record company with tons of employees, but we have no phone line, no fax machine, and just recently purchased a second computer. Depending on how you look at life, this is either a good thing or a bad thing. For me, it’s the only thing (or in other words: “I LIKE BEING A LITTLE LABEL”). This is how the label will remain. I do this for the love of music, not for capitalist gain or status recognition. I try my best to do the right things ethically and to believe in helping others instead of striving for profit over people. We encourage you to mail order directly from us (it’s the only true form of DIY distribution), but if you do choose to buy from a store, please support the punk rock mom and pop instead of the super mega chain store. It’s very important for me to keep the prices low. Music is meant to be affordable!! How can you justify charging $18.99 for an LP?? It makes me sick!! Anyways, I hope you can grasp what this label is about. Thanks for your interest in Asian Man Records. If you have any questions/concerns, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Peace , Mike Park
1. I want to distribute Asian Man stuff, can I get a wholesale catalog?
We are distributed by Traffic, please contact email@example.com You can contact them for our wholesale catalog, they are really nice and will help you answer all your distribution questions.
For Asian Man wholesale or retail merchandise such as stickers and tshirts, please e-mail us for prices: firstname.lastname@example.org
2. When are bands coming to play my town?
We try to have our bands’ tour dates available on our webpage and we frequently update them on our Asian Man Records e-mail updates.
3. How do I get on your mailing list?
Fill out the form to the right, or just e-mail us with the subject “please add me to mailing list” and tell us that you want to be on our mailing list at email@example.com
4. Will you listen to my band’s demo?
At this point in time, we are not accepting non-solicited demos. Sorry.
5. Can I get some advice on starting a label?
We get this question a lot, so Mike wrote up a list of tips on how to get started. If you would like a copy, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and ask for an e-mail version!
6. How do I get promo info?
For promo materials, please e-mail email@example.com. We don’t do mass mailouts and we can’t send stuff to everyone who contacts us, but we always try to have a good working relationship with radio, zines, and web people, so get in touch!
7. What do I do if I haven’t received my order?
Please allow us 3-4 weeks to get your order to you. We work very hard at getting out your orders as fast as possible, but sometimes there are problems, like if we are waiting for a shipment of records or supplies to come in. Credit card orders are usually processed and sent within 3-5 days of receiving them. We hold all checks for two weeks so that we can protect ourselves from bounced checks (WE HATE THAT!!!). If you haven’t gotten your order within 2 months, please contact us…we get lots of orders that we can’t send out because they don’t have addresses or we can’t read the writing, etc.
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS, please allow at least 4-8 weeks for delivery. Feel free to contact us if you haven’t received your order after that amount of time, and we would be happy to look into the issue for you.
Any other questions about ordering can go to:

Vinyl pressing information is listed along with each release in the store.
