AhhhÖItís Saturday and Iím spending my day in Santa Cruz, California. Perhaps the greatest place in the whole wide world. Beautiful mountains, the ocean, good veggie restaurants, and my best friend lives here. I am actually at her work right now. Sheís working tilí 2:00 and then weíre going for a walk. I like walking. In fact, itís my favorite thing to do lately. Just being able to walk and walk and walkÖlooking at my surroundings, seeing houses, wondering who lives in these houses, people watching, smells of plants, flowers, food from restaurantsÖ..blah, blah, blahÖ.Iím sure Iím boring yíall. Anyways, hereís something more interesting. One of the bands we work with(POLYSICS) are coming to the United States from Japan next month. You see, itís extremely expensive for a band to come to the states from Japan, so the Japanese bands we work with never get to tour the US, but POLYSICS are the luckiest of the lucky. They were featured on a compilation called Japan For Sale VOL. 3.(HTTP://JAPANFORSALE.NET) Itís released in the US by SONY Records. Anyways, they(SONY) are having 3 parties in the US to celebrate the release and theyíve picked POLYSICS as the live band from Japan that they want to play these parties. WOOHOO!! Great for me because I get to see them play live. And good for you because they have given me 50 guest list spots for each show that I get to give out to whomever I want. These shows are private affairs and arenít open to the public. Itís entirely invite only, but for some reason they gave me 50 spots at each show. I guess Iím cool..Eh? NO? Anyways, here are the shows they are playing:
MAY 26th-Double Door(21+)-CHICAGO
MAY 27th-Bottom Of The Hill(21+)-SAN FRANCISCO
MAY 29th-Knitting Factory(All Ages)-LOS ANGELES
Sorry about the 21+ shows. There will be free food and drinks at these shows.(I know itís crazy), but Iím just passing on the information that theyíve given me. And the first 100 people that come get a free care package that has some crazy limited edition toy.. Iím not exactly sure what the deal is, but free is good. So, just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and give me your first and last name and what show you want to go to. You will be given a +1, so you and a friend can come to the show. Iíll be at the LA and SF show, but not the Chicago show. Oh well. Iíll be there early eating the food, so look for me and say ďHIĒ. Also, I will be playing an acoustic show on May 9th. The show is in San Francisco and itís an all ages show at The Mission Badlands/Balazo Gallery. Itís located at 2811 Mission St. @ 24th right above Friday Kahlo Pizza. The show is $5 and tickets are only available at the door. This is a record release party for the Underground Screams CD. Playing with me will be the Clarendon Hills and the Skyflakes. Thereís also a few other bands playing, but I think Iím going on 3rd out of 5 bands. The show starts at 8PM and Iíll be going on at around 9 PM. So it would be fun to see a lot of happy faces at the show. And finally, I mentioned earlier that we would be having a night out at the Aís game for some fun and excitement. Well, Iíve decided on a date of June 18th. The Aís are playing the Rangers. The game is at 7:05 PM. Unfortunately, $1 Wednesdays are now $2 Wednesdays. But thatís still pretty cheap. I will be bringing a full barbeque set up and we will have tons of food, drinks(Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and blaring PUNK ROCK. So, if you want to go to the game, please RSVP at email@example.com. Let me know how many of you are going and Iíll get the appropriate number of tickets. By the way, Iím listening to Ani Difranco, They Might Be Giants, and Miles Davis today and my favorite color is green. I must not forget to thank the nice girl who wrote a beautiful poem about peace for me. Thanks for sharing. Itís much appreciated. Ok. Thatís it for now. Take care everyone. Be good, smile big, donít be a tough guy, and believe in peace. Itís possible.
Peace Always, Mike Park
