Yeah, I realize it's NOVEMBER 12th, but read on and you'll get it.
Howzit... I am approximately 800 miles east of honolulu as I head home to California. For the last 5 days I've been vacationing on the island of Oahu with my wife, daughter, son, sister, brother-in-law, niece, and good ol' mom. And now I'm just 3 hrs from San Francisco Intl Airport. Our flight was delayed 2.5 hrs, which will put us on land at around 10:30 PM. We still have an hour drive back to San Jose. I'm hoping to be in my bed by midnight. Wishful thinking? Yes.

Anyways, here's what's going on in the world of Asian Man....
The MATT SKIBA "Demos" release slated for FEB. 16th is going to be pushed back until after the new Alkaline Trio album is released. Yeah, bummer bummer bummer, but when you're in a big band like the trio, sometimes you have to play by the rules of the big wigs in charge of whatever big wigs do. Matt told me he'd let me know as soon as possible in terms of a release date. But shoootzzz......the album is finished, mastered, and ready to be delivered as soon as we are given an exact date. Sorry if this causes any heartache to anyone, but will keep you updated as soon as we know what's going on.

Effective DEC 12th, 2009, Asian Man will no longer be carrying any Ben Weasel related merchandise. Ben has decided that he can no longer work with myself and asian man records. To be honest, I have no hard feelings and I only wish Ben the best. After Dec. 12th, the good folks at RECESS RECORDS will be handling all the Screeching Weasel, Riverdales, and Ben Weasel solo releases. So what does this mean other than me being bummed these great records are no longer part of the asian man catalog? Well, it means we have very little time to sell a bunch of great records. What else? Skylar has been putting together a special XMAS/HOLIDAY greeting card that we will make available the day after Turkey Day. Original artwork by Kepi Ghoulie, we are silk screening by hand 500 XMAS cards that comes with a cd featuring XMAS/HOLIDAY music by:

Plenty of bands touring in the next few months, O PIONEERS!!! will be doing a short run with AGAINST ME on the west coast in December, KEPI continues his relentless schedule, Andrew Jackson Jihad will be touring in January, and BTMI w/ Jeff and his IPOD will be going out on the east coast, What else? The QUEERS will actually take a little break after this year to concentrate on recording their next record, ummmm.... SMOKING POPES record release show in FEB. in Chicago, SMOKING POPES are starting to work on a new record(I'll write more details when I know more, but they are starting the process), and I guess that's it? Let me think? Shoootzzz That's all I can think of right now. Hard to concentrate on a plane when you're sitting in tiny seats. Be well friends. I'm off to see the LAWRENCE ARMS tomorrow in San Francisco. can't wait.
