I know many of you have already donated money and time to the sad situation in Haiti. We would like to do our part and help raise more money. We are going to offer the following package:
PLEA FOR PEACE T-SHIRT
ANDREW JACKSON JIHAD-CAN'T MAINTAIN CD
LEMURIA-GET BETTER CD
KEPI GHOULIE-LIFE SENTENCE CD
OPIONEERS!!!-NEON CREEPS CD
BOMB THE MUSICINDUSTRY-SCRAMBLES CD
The package will be $30. We will donate the money to an organization called "Partners in Health", which seems like a great one. It's kinda famous because it was started by Dr. Paul Farmer, the subject of the best selling book, "Mountains Beyond Mountains," about his life's quest to care for the impoverished people of Haiti. PIH has been in Haiti opening/running clinics and hospitals for 20+ years, and have 50 doctors and 400 nurses in rural Haiti, so they're already set up and going balls out, they just need more $$.
Go to pih.org and http://standwithhaiti.org/haiti if interested; took like 30 seconds to donate online. I donated $1,000 today and hope with the help of the Asian Man fans, that we can donate much more than that over the next few weeks.
The guys in FOR THE WIN are in the studio recording their new record. No title has been picked, but weare looking at an APRIL/MAY release date for the new record.
And the girls from the HOT TODDIES are also wrapping up the final touches on their sophomore release "Get Your Heart On". The band will be heading over to Europe in May to support the new release. It will be their first time to hit the countries east of the UK.
The Smoking Popes pre-order deal of LP, CD, and T-SHIRT will conclude this Sunday. So if you'd like to take advantage of this deal, please order now. Check here for details: asianmanrecords.com/basket/itsbeenalongday.html
We just got a dozen books called SECRET ASIAN MAN by Tak Toyoshima. Here's a description: "After ten years of writing and illustrating the critically acclaimed comic strip series Secret Asian Man, Tak Toyoshima has put together his first book of strips. Secret Asian Man: The Daily Days collects every single daily comic strip he produced for over two years of syndication with United Features. Between the covers of this 232 page collection, no one is safe from SAM's keen observations on race, religion, politics, sexual orientation and everything else that gets people's undies in a bunch." The book is $20 and will be the first of many more books we hope to carry in our distro section.
And finally.... another plea to purchase the special package deal to raise money for Haiti. We need to help these people. Be well friends.
