Happy Monday!!! Hopefully everyone is in the swing of things with the holiday fun or not so fun for others. Anyways, let's jump into this. Asian Man 15 year anniversary is shaping up nicely. There are some changes being made to how we are going to sell tickets. No longer will we be selling weekend passes. After talking to both venues in great detail we've all decided that having passes would potentially mess everything up. The main problem is that there’s no way to guarantee you’d get into a show. What if everyone wants to go to one show vs the other and can’t get in. I’d be pretty upset if I spent hard earned money on a ticket and couldn’t even see the band I wanted to see. Does that make sense? So we’ve decided we’ll sell individual tickets to each and every show. This way it will be more affordable for everyone and will also give a lot more people an opportunity to get into the shows. Here's how it's going to work. If you've already emailed me for tickets, then you are on a waiting list in the order that I received your email to purchase tickets for the shows you want. You will get first crack to get the tickets you desire. In the meantime, if you haven't sent an email, please send me the following information to get on the waiting list to purchase tickets: mikeasianman@aol.com(yeah... i know.. nobody uses aol but old people, but I am old) SUBJECT: ASIAN MAN 15 NAME: WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM: (Just cause I'm curious) And if you've already sent an email to me and didn't get a response, then send me another email just to make sure you are on the waiting list. Again, I ask all of you to not post this on message boards or on news sites like PUNKNEWS. The venues are so small and tickets are so limited that I would like to make sure all of you have a chance to see the shows you want to see. Just for fun, here's some info. on people coming. -At least 70% coming from out of town. -11 people are coming from the UK -2 people from Japan -3 people from Mexico -1 person from Russia -and Illinois will by far be the state with the largest representation. And finally here's some random info. on the anniversary celebration: JUNE 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th we will be celebrating our 15 year anniversary with a slew of shows at two venues in the beautiful city of San Francisco, California. THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL and THE PARKSIDE Both clubs are on 17th street and are exactly 5 minutes walking distance from each other. Shows will start around 7 PM and run til about 1 AM. Looking to have around 5 to 6 bands playing at each show. For those who have never been to San Francisco get ready to enjoy one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The history, the energy, the great restaurants, the museums, the golden gate bridge, alcatraz, fisherman's wharf, the Giants, the the the... serious it's dizzying thinking of all the amazing fun this city has to offer. I'm extremely excited for this and hope you are too. Anyways, just wanted to shoot out this info to keep you in the loop on how we are doing tickets. Be well friends. peace, mike park ps-if you live in the bay area and would like to host out of towners by letting them sleep on your floor, can you also get in touch. I know this is an expensive venture for a lot of people, so perhaps some kind folks could offer floor space for our friends to save some cash on hotels and such. And it's a chance to meet some nice people too. YAY!!! |
