Howzit...I played basketball tonight, but my bangs were so long that even a headband couldn't keep them out of my eyes, so I grabbed some construction paper type scissors from the front desk at the YMCA and cut em' myself. Unfortunately I cut the bangs to short and I look like I'm a muppet or some sort of anime character. It's cool. I'll ask my mom to cut my hair tomorrow. I kind of liked my hair long and shaggy, but oh well. Let's see what's new? I got shingles on my stomach. That's fun. Don't know what shingles are? Well, it's a form of chicken pox. I'm in the later stages of this itchy experience, so now I just have scabs on my stomach and they are starting to fall off. I was extremely itchy the last few weeks, but finally I am better. My EBAY obsession is still going strong. I've still got tons of stuff to go through that I will get rid. I'm serious...I'm gonna sell everything that I have, even my saxaphones. If I don't think something will sell on Ebay I will give the rest away to GOODWILL. MAN oh man, the weather in San Jose, California has been amazing. It was 75 degrees and sunny, sunny, sunny today. What a blessing it is to live here. Or at least until we have another big earthquake, then my head will say move to Arizona. Once again..., if you're not familiar with this newsletter and wonder what the heck is going on.....??? Well, this is just my section to rant about anything and everything. Sorry..... I will be heading to the UK on April 2nd to do the only tour of the year for the Chinkees. We'll be going with POTSHOT from Japan, who hopefully will be hitting the US later this year on some WARPED TOUR dates. I'm excited about the UK. I had a great time on the last tour and loved the food. Especially the great INDIAN food restaurants. I love Indian food. I think it's my favorite food. YUMMY!! Such good Vegetarian selections. So all you guys and gals from the UK, let me know of some good places to eat over there. Also, I'm looking for record stores in the UK. Good ma and pa punk rock stores. No Virgin megastores. We are going to put out Matt Skiba's solo record, but even better news is that it will a split release with none other than...drum roll.......Kevin Seconds. YES!!! I can't believe it. I just asked him if he would do it and he said yes. Me and Matt are very excited for that. And Matt starts recording this Sunday. Mr. Dan Potthast is recording his new solo record as we speak. I just got off the phone with him about 30 minutes ago and he says things are going very well. He's really excited. I'm sure it will be great quality stuff. Don't forget all the great new releases coming out including SHORT ROUND, THE PLUS ONES, MU330, THE TOASTERS,THE CHINKEES, and hopefully my solo record. New bands to asian man will be Ee, Little Jeans, and the Fairlanes. Plea For Peace is slated for late September. I got the ok to let everyone know who the band is that is playing PLEA FOR PEACE/TAKE ACTION TOUR this year. It will be COMMON RIDER, featuring Jesse Michaels, lead vocalist from OPERATION IVY. This will be Jesse's first tour since 1988. To be honest, I'm probably the most excited person about this. I'm a godzilla-esque fan of Jesse's work. He is almost done with the new COMMON RIDER record and from what I've heard it's amazing! Very OP IVYish and I a again feel like a kid at GILMAN ST. FUN FUN FUN FUN!!! We also have confirmed LAWRENCE ARMS on the tour. This year it will only be a few bands. We will take one more band on tour and then have special guests in select markets. I will keep you up to date on other news pertaining to PLEA FOR PEACE in the future. Oh, by the way...I am moving this Saturday to downtown San Jose on 11th St. I'm moving in with Julie who does the asian man website. I currently live at my moms house. My mom is very sad, but we run asian man out of the garage so I'll see her everyday. Regardless, she's still sad. Ok, that's enough for now. Have a great, great, day, week, month, etc. Smile big.
