I'm pretty delirious right now. I've been lying in bed for a few hours, but can't sleep. So I'm going to try to write a newsletter. It's been awhile since I've written. Can't really explain why I haven't written? I'm sorry. If this is your first time here, you might be wondering what kind of newsletter this is? Well, it's basically my personal space to say whatever. It's not really informative towards the bands and stuff, so I hope that you are not angry. Will you add me to the e-mail list" And you'll be updated with release info., tours, etc.. I just got back from the PLEA FOR PEACE tour. Thanks to all who came out and shared make this tour a reality. To be totally honest, this may have been the best tour I have ever been a part of. I met so many amazing people and was able to get to know many of the Asian Man bands on a more personal level. Every band on the tour took a huge pay cut. They basically made enough to pay for gas and eat. Thank you ALKALINE TRIO, MU330, LINK 80, BLUE MEANIES, HONOR SYSTEM, LAWRENCE ARMS, CHRIS MURRAY, and DAN POTTHAST for believing in the tour. Our goal was to raise around $15,000 for various non-profit organizations. It looks as if we came in a little short, but we still raised over $10,000. At first I was let down, but now I realize I can only try my best. I hope the tour meant more to you than just a rock show. I'd sure like to hear your opinions about the tour. Please feel free to write your comments(good and bad) to mike@asianmanrecords.com We also raised over 2 tons of food to various food banks that help feed the homeless. Thank you for bringing your food donations to the show. Big SMILE from me. To be honest, touring is very hard on me. Physically and emotionally I become drained. But for the most part, I was full of energy and can't wait for next year. I've only got one month at home and then I leave for Japan. I'm moving to Japan for the rest of the year. I'll be working on the label over there and also looking to sign 2 -3 new bands. So I'm hoping to get the most out of this one month of summer at home. I was supposed to go see Weird Al Yankovic tonight, but it didn't happen. I'm kind of bummed about it. Oh well. I'm gonna see Big D and the Kids Table this Saturday. I'm pretty excited about that. I've never seen them. They're the only asian man band I've never seen. But they'll be here in my hometown of San Jose. If anyone lives in the area, please go to the show. This year we're going to have ASIAN MAN DAY at the BOARDWALK in SANTA CRUZ, CA.. The day will be MONDAY August 21st. It's $.50 cent night. Every ride on $.50. It's very fun. Also, if anyone wants to trade stuff, I'm looking for people who can get me into Marine World for free, or if you work at an arcade, or a movie theater, or a food establishment and you can get free stuff, let me know.
