Happy New Year! Wow, the first month is already over. Time flies for sure. Things are crazy over here. The mailorder is out of control. The phone is ringing off the hook and the mail is piling up. But that's good, isn't it? 2 weeks ago I broke a rib on my right side. I was at a basketball game(the GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS VS. THE SACRAMENTO KINGS) with Dan Andriano(ALKALINE TRIO) and Steve Borth(LINK 80). Things were great. Lots of fun eating cotton candy and being loud. Anyways, about 45 minutes into the game, they dim the lights and the mascot for the warriors comes running out on the court. And suddenly from the ceiling drops a bunch of something? attatched to parachutes. And the announcer says some have tickets to upcoming games. WOW.. as I watched the fun unfold. It looked pretty neat. Suddenly I watch a few more drop and I say "wait a second, that's coming towards me", so I stand up and kind of make my move to grab it. It's coming right for me!! I JUMP-I miss. But then I jump again. But there's a crowd and somehow I get tripped up and I fall on an armrest of a chair. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew something was wrong right away, but didn't want anyone to see the pain I was in, so I quickly sat up. Anyways, I broke my 10th rib on the right side. Went to the emergency room 2 days later and am still in tons of pain. It hurts to laugh, I can't take deep breaths and I haven't left the house in 2 weeks. I'm going crazy to be totally honest. Oh yeah! I did get the doll that was attached to the parachute, but no tickets. Later in the game a little boy about 7 years old walked by and eyed my doll which was sitting on the empty aisle seat. He said "Is that yours?" "Yes", I replied. As he started to walk away, I said "Do you want it", and he said "Yes" and happily went away with my doll. I think it's a pretty good story, but I still wish it didn't happen. Let me see, what else is going on?......PLEA FOR PEACE UPDATE-The Japan leg is still in place and will feature POTSHOT, MU330, the CHINKEES, and SOFTBALL. It will be from march 7-17. The Chinkees will also play one show in Seoul, Korea on March 19th at the FEEDBACK. The US line up is 100% totally confirmed as follows:ALKALINE TRIO, MU330, LINK 80, HONOR SYSTEM, CHRIS MURRAY(VENICE SHORELINE CHRIS, KING APPARATUS), LAWRENCE ARMS, DAN POTTHAST, and ME(MIKE PARK). The tour starts on JUNE 27th in CHICAGO. It will run through the end of JULY and hopefully will include some CANADA dates. I should have some of the dates posted by March 1st. Tickets will be $9 or less. I think that's a good affordable price and hope you agree. In two weeks I'm supposed to go to the DIY bowling tournament in Las Vegas, but my rib!!!! Regardless, I'm still going, but probably won't be able to bowl. It's a pretty neat thing they have going on. All the punk rock labels and a bunch of punk bands including NOFX, DILLINGER 4, and more all compete in this bowling tournament. It sounds like a great time. And will be a good little vacation for me and TONY(mailorder guy). I should have had Julie go, but for some reason I didn't think she could bowl, but we went bowling awhile back and she beat me and TONY! HOWZIT? Well, that's it for this newsletter. Have a great day.
