School is back in session as the traffic has increased the past week. I live in downtown San Jose about 3 blocks from San Jose State University. Parking has become increasingly worse when I come home at night as the students have staked out every free spot within a mile walking distance. Oh well. The pleasures of living downtown are worth the few inconveniences.

We've been experiencing extremely hot weather these past few days. An incredible labor day weekend put us over 100 degrees all three days. It's a bit cooler today, but the weather is still beautiful and the urge to leave work and go out and play in the park is quite tempting.

And there's been no shortage of good shows this summer. Here's a list of some of the shows I've seen:the Cure, Cursive, Toys That Kill, Lawrence Arms, Satori, Dillinger Escape Plan, Planes Mistaken For Stars, MU330, rx bandits, DEERHOOF, Good For Cows, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Xiu Xiu, Juliana Hatfield, the Skyflakes, The Breeders, Alkaline Trio, Social Distortion, Against Me, The Dickies, TSOL, DI, Toots and the Maytals, Prince Buster, Chris Murray, and hundreds more.

I leave for tour in 10 days. Lucky me as I get to ride on the ANTI FLAG bus for 22 days and enjoy the comforts of pretending all the people at the shows are there to see me!! WOOHOO!!
